It's a Chemical Reaction!

We have been continuing to follow our Monday/Wednesday Friends interest in Science! Our latest experiment....mixing baking soda and vinegar.

Step 1: We filled a divided tray with baking soda.

Step 2: We poured our mixture of coloured vinegar over each section in the tray and watched the chemical reaction occur.

The children were eager to try this experiment themselves. So, the next day at school we set up an invitation to play on our Tuff Tray complete with baking soda, vinegar and pipettes.

The children strengthened their fine motor skills as they learned how to use the pipettes. They watched eagerly as the chemical reaction occurred. It was so fun to see the bubbles and "fizz" appear, and watch how the colours mixed together.

Perhaps you'd like to try this experiment out at home!
